 Industrial Ergonomics For Management

Tuesday June 20th, 2017

Hosted By:

1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

2940 Fairview Ave E
Seattle, WA 98102-3016

Learn to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your current program and mitigate risk exposures.

In Industrial Ergonomics For Management you’ll learn best practices and gain understanding of the gaps between where your company is now and where it needs to be. The course will help you create a prioritized and strategic approach to improving ergonomics across your organization through self-assessment, group discussion, and live demonstrations.

During the class, you’ll review injury statistics, the business case for ergonomics, how to calculate the true costs of injuries so you can make a business case for interventions and controls, what risk conditions contribute to or cause musculoskeletal injuries, elements for successful risk mitigation, and specific examples to illustrate and brainstorm both risk identification and controls.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Name primary general risk factors for musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) injuries, including which to focus on for the biggest impact.
  • List the elements of a successful MSD injury mitigation program.
  • Cite examples of engineering, administrative, and work practice controls to mitigate MSD injury risk exposures.
  • Benchmark ergonomics efforts against best practices.
  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses in your current ergonomics process/program.
  • Use the provided OSHA-based Industrial Ergonomics Checklist to help prioritize efforts, both internal and external.
